Product Introduction

Powder Introduction

CuW copper–tungsten powder is a two-phase composite metal powder consisting of tungsten (W) and copper (Cu). Tungsten and copper are immiscible in the solid state and do not form intermetallic compounds, making this material a functional metal‑matrix composite powder.
Our company employs vacuum atomization to produce powders that exhibit high sphericity, low oxygen content, and uniform composition with no segregation. These powders are free of hollow particles and offer excellent flowability, making them ideally suited for advanced manufacturing processes such as SLM metal 3D printing, powder metallurgy copper infiltration, MIM, laser cladding, and hot isostatic pressing (HIP).

Application areas

1 EDM electrical discharge machining and resistance welding electrodes

• Electrode wear is significantly lower than that of graphite and pure copper.

• Resistance welding rollers and welding electrodes for automotive components, resistant to high temperatures and non‑stick to workpieces.

2 Aerospace, Military Industry & National Defense (High-End Powders)

• Rocket engine nozzle throat liners, gas vanes, and missile nose cones rely on transpiration cooling to withstand the scouring of ultra-high-temperature gas flows;

• High-temperature hydraulic valves for aerospace vehicles; thermal control and heat dissipation components for space applications;

• Radiation shielding counterweights for the nuclear industry, and high-temperature-resistant linings for specialized weapons.
